Mit einem hervorragenden 400 m Lauf und neuer persönlicher Bestleistung von 47,12 Sekunden beendete Michael Schrader den ersten Wettkampftag. Schrader, der zuvor auch beim Hochsprung eine gute Leistung von 1,98 m gezeigt hat, ist aktuell mit 4355 Punkten Fünfter in der Gesamtwertung.
Das gilt genauso für die anderen beiden Deutschen Rico Freimuth (aktuell Dritter) und Kai Kazmirek (aktuell Vierter).
